Workshop set on proposed Skykomish wilderness

A workshop designed to explore the proposed new wilderness area near Index in eastern Snohomish County has been set for Thursday in Monroe.
Representatives of U.S. Sen. Patty Murray and U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen, both D-Wash., will be on hand to discuss the proposed "Wild Skykomish" wilderness in the Mount Baker- Snoqualmie National Forest.
This will be an opportunity to meet with congressional representatives and discuss the plan, get questions asked and share comments.
Workshop topics will include areas under consideration for wilderness designation, recreational opportunities, conservation advantages and U.S. Forest Service management issues.
