Ask the Swiss how they did it

Regarding the article, “Swiss inaugurate $12 billion rail tunnel, world’s longest”: Huh… So the Swiss and EU built a tunnel under the Alps for $12 billion. It took them 17 years and spanned 35.4 miles. Knowing how bureaucratic, socialist and political Europe can be this is amazing. So tell me how in our capitalistic, competitive society Sound Transit wants $54 billion over 20-plus years to build a surface line?
