Bush’s plan is ‘deja voodoo’ all over

A recent letter-writer sang the praises of the economy and accused those who warn otherwise of crying wolf (“Bad economy?: Dems are crying wolf to hurt Bush,” Nov. 26). He left one thing off his list – debt. The Bush economic plan is the same as Ronald Reagan’s: give everyone a credit card and say “go forth and spend.” It leaves the paying off of the debt to someone else. It’s easy to think things are rosy as long as you are spending someone else’s (in this case, your children’s and grandchildren’s) money. Bush’s father rightly called the Reagan plan “voodoo economics.” Clinton’s recovery plan removed the curse. Now it’s deja voodoo all over again.
