On Saturday, May 3rd Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2100 in Everett conducted its National Day of Service program.
It was the last action they needed to accomplish for the 2024-25 year to earn the coveted All-American designation.
The program they conducted is called “Heroes Serving Heroes” in which they delivered Firehouse subs to two police stations, three fire stations and the Snohomish County 911 Call Center in Everett.
Not only does the program provide a delicious, well balanced meal to our local first responder heroes, but it also supports a first responder-based business in Firehouse Subs.
A percentage of all Firehouse Subs sales through its foundation go toward the purchase of much-needed lifesaving equipment throughout the United States. The Everett Firehouse Subs was also very generous in giving us a significant discount on the meals and provided great customer service for the event.
We were very honored to have the Everett Police Chief John DeRousse and the Public Affairs Officer Alicia Gill assisting Post and Auxillary Members deliver meals to our local first responder heroes. We delivered a total of 80 meals to six Everett first responder locations.
The program was a success and fun was had by all.
If the membership decides, “Heroes Serving Heroes” could be our own official National Day of Service program for years to come.
