It’s going to be football weather

It’s going to be downright frigid for football at today’s NFC championship game in Green Bay, Wis., where it might not top 0 degrees. If you watch on a high-definition TV, you just might see the announcers’ lips freeze on Brett Favre’s behind.
Not that we’re having trouble letting go, but it will be a pleasant 38 degrees or so at Qwest Field.
The forecast calls for 64 in Phoenix, site of this year’s Super Bowl. In anticipation of tourists, the city is pushing a “come early, stay late” campaign.
The city’s many retirees are worried, but they’ve been assured that doesn’t mean people will be forced to stay up past 7.
It’ll be 57 and rainy in London, where there are a lot of new attractions, Rick Steves writes. Be sure to go to the Chessington amusement park and check out the American currency ride. You go along pretty smoothly for a long time, then take a sudden nosedive.
But if you’re going anywhere outside the U.S., hurry up and figure out all the new passport rules. If you don’t, the forecast for your temper is uncomfortably hot.
