Leak similar to Skagit pipeline spill killed three boys

Regarding the gasoline leak, an important clarification is needed (“Gasoline pipeline leaks in Skagit County, spilling into creek,” The Herald., Dec. 12). The three “people” killed by an almost identical pipeline failure by the same company in Bellingham in 1999 were actually three boys innocently playing in a creek. Yes, it was the same company!

Gasoline leaks are not oil leaks; they are instantaneous human tragedies waiting to happen. Heads should roll over this, but don’t hold your breath.
