Money is all saved for GOP’s friends

I don’t know about the rest of you but I have had enough of this Republican administration and it’s lies. Remember the lock box that they supposedly have the Social Security and Medicare money safely inside? Well, in a recent interview with the Financial Times, Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neil says he is in favor of doing away with corporate taxes, Social Security and Medicare. He also said they are already $60 billion short of meeting the current budget and they will have to dip into these two funds to meet it. And people call Bill Clinton and Al Gore liars.

Starting with the Reagan administration, the Republican agenda has been to give huge tax cuts to the top 1 percent, making the money left over short of what is needed to run the country. Then there was a Democratic Congress and he had to give in to them to the point all he could do was “put it on a charge card” to be repaid after he was long gone from office. But what he did accomplish was to transfer enough of the money to the rich to bankroll the Republicans to where they are today. And then there was the the hatchet job done on Bill Clinton and every other Democrat they could touch.

Now, here comes the second Bush administration with another huge tax cut to finish the job. They will not have enough money in the coffers to fund the programs they want – defense and the like – so they say they will have to cut out social programs, which include Social Security and Medicare. Their agenda will be complete.

Once you give the money to just a few people, they can use it as leverage to control the agenda. All they have to do is threaten to spend their money overseas to bring the working people to their knees. They have already done this very effectively to a point. We all know that this administration was not elected by the majority of the people so they have to work fast. If we don’t get involved by writing our congressional representatives and letting them know that we are not going to sit still for this raping of the Constitution, we might as well live in a Third World country. I cannot believe that the founding fathers had this in mind when they wrote that document.
