More trees must replace what was lost at Costco site

With interest and sadness I read about the thousands of trees lost to Costco development (“Lake Stevens neighbors mourn 1,000s of trees at Costco site,” The Herald, Aug. 12). So sad to lose thousands of trees. On TV news, Auburn’s mayor said they will apply to the city to plant more trees because Auburn and Kent are hot spots with all that concrete. (Shown on a heat map). Yes, Costco will replant some trees. If so, plant the native firs and deciduous trees, not the little tiny ornamentals. Let’s keep this the Northwest!
