Not convenient for many in county

How nice it is for Julie Muhlstein to live so close to Providence Everett Medical Center that almost every health-care need of her family is met in her own neighborhood. (Sunday column, “Hospital an asset, even if hard on Everett neighbors.”)

I, too, live in North Everett, but on the “other” side of Colby. My extended family, in-laws, etc., also mostly live in Snohomish County. Many of my and my husband’s co-workers cannot afford to live in North Everett, and instead are making their homes in Arlington, Sultan, and other lower-cost housing areas. They, too, have health-care needs, but rather having Providence located in a more central area of the county, they have to fight traffic congestion and other delays to get to the same hospital that Ms. Muhlstein praises as so convenient.

Rather than almost gloating that she’s happy because her needs are met, shouldn’t Ms. Muhlstein be a bit more compassionate to her fellow Snohomish County residents?
