Outgoing board did a great job

Having read enough, I am resolved to put my two cents in. I do not believe that the voice of all in Marysville was heard in the last election. Less than 40 percent of voters even turned out. However, the current board has reflected the views of all.

The truth is, the teachers have a union representative who I believe has a personal problem with Dr. Linda Whitehead. Look who they supported in the last election. After all, didn’t the current board get the support of the union? It wasn’t until the union rep tried to bully her way through Dr. Whitehead that the problems began.

As with most unions, they try to squeeze every last penny out even when there is none to be had. Even unions need some accountability and the superintendent’s job is accountability to the citizens in Marysville. Sounds to me like the teachers need a new representative. It will take a lot of commitment from the teachers to gain the kind of respect they deserve and earned for so many years. It’s too bad it only took one angry rep to take it away.

I think having Dr. Whitehead in for another year will be the best way to prevent the puppets from giving the union and teachers money that should be used for raising the standards for our kids, so that one day they will have higher paying jobs.

I commend Dr. Whitehead for taking a stand when it seems not very many are doing so. I didn’t see any of the out-going board members using such a smear campaign as the union and teachers did. The strike will have long-term effects, especially because the students were forced to choose sides.

Thanks to all of the outgoing board members. You did a great job.
