Photo shows joy in Mountlake Terrace

What an utter thrill to see that super photo in Sunday’s Herald of a Terrace Hawks team with all those jubilant faces who just won their first-ever (I believe) district baseball title. It reminded me of Ken Griffey Jr. smiling under the pile at home plate after Edgar Martinez’s double at the end of Seattle’s Game 5 win over the Yankees at the Kingdome in 1995, in terms of the obvious collective joy.

The Theis/Clingan/Sells/Strieby Express led by Coach Andrew “Sky Blue” Watters keeps chugging along. A trip to state awaits, but for now, proud Hawks fans can do their own version of The 44th Avenue Shuffle because “There is much joy in Mountlake; Mighty Terrace is DISTRICT CHAMP!”
