Plenty support from Democrats

Regarding the letter, “Area waters, land deserve better”: Mike Shaw of Edmonds writes at length on how the railroads transporting oil or coal won’t pay for clean up costs unless “Republican feds feet are held to the fire.” Fact checking is seriously needed when arguing about who and what benefits from the transportation of oil and coal through the Pacific Northwest on BNSF rail lines.
In 2009, Warren Buffett’s holding company, Berkshire Hathaway, purchased all of Burlington Northern Santa Fe for the sum of $44 billion. Warren Buffet is a huge donor to the Hillary Clinton campaign and pretty much all things left of center. Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway is taking advantage of the Keystone Pipeline not being passed through the current administration. Not saying that this is crony capitalism at work, however. … But wait, the story gets even more interesting: We have paid protesters standing at various times touting the dangers ecologically being paid for by the same people making money off the transportation of the coal and oil! Isn’t that nice? Profit and protest all in the same bag? Nice!
Regarding the issue of “cleaning up spills” as mentioned in Mr. Shaw’s letter, House Bill 1449 was just defeated in November of 2015 by a 51.32 percent margin, taking the burden of “cleaning up spills” off the shoulders of Washington state taxpayers. In other words, by a slim margin, the voters rejected paying for Warren Buffett’s trains derailing and causing possible environmental harm.
Where in any of this scenario are evil Republicans? Simple Google searches and then hitting the enter tab brings the results you need, without utilizing “tinyurl.” Not an opinion, just a fact. Due to the moral and business duality of this Warren Buffett needs to change his holding companies name to “Berkshire Hypocrite.”
