Power of money to persuade

Somebody’s paying lots of money producing the propaganda that amazingly has a large segment buying into their agenda. It’s neither Republican nor Democrat, thou both are guilty of being bought, but that’s another debate on involvement…the agenda here is maximizing profits, regardless of the consequences on the environment, to labor or our political system, which for you Constitutional buffs, is to provide for among other things, the general welfare; not corporate welfare.
How many more waterways, mountains and forests will be contaminated by further deregulation for the sake of profits? The spills and deadly explosions continue yet propaganda claims “big government” is strangling the America dream.
Today there are far fewer haves than have nots, a gap not seen in a century. It’s a stretch to suggest half the country woke up one morning declaring they’d take pay cuts, gladly give up their jobs/benefits for globalization or decided to lose their homes and life savings all so somebody could be “too big to fail.” The propaganda has some believing otherwise, but families don’t choose to live in near poverty.
During Watergate a key tip surfaced — follow the money. Where might it lead in today’s world? Take for example recent Supreme Court decisions, the first declaring corporations are people and then allowing individuals unlimited campaign donations, stating limits impeded on their First Amendment rights. Sandwiched in between those, they upheld new voting laws inhibiting others from exercising their rights and the government’s ability to ensure those rights aren’t unduly infringed upon. Propaganda cites election fraud?
Asking who benefits raises questions as to the motives of those willing and able to spend millions just on misleading rhetoric. If the tea party believes these guys care about their social causes, try supporting higher taxes and see what happens to their support.
