With all the bad news in the media these days, it is encouraging to know that there are wonderful, honest and caring people in our world.
I had been under a lot of stress recently and made a stop at Safeway on Evergreen Way to pick up some items. When I removed the bags from the grocery cart, I carelessly left my purse there. By the time I got home I realized I was missing the purse. I called Safeway and reached their lost and found department. The lady there took my name and phone number and then went outside to check, but couldn’t locate the purse. She called me and advised me to call 911 to report it. The police were very helpful.
I was pretty devastated, but before long I received a call from the new owner of the house we had sold in May. He had gone out to get his mail and discovered my purse on his porch.
Apparently, someone had put it there while he was gone. Since my driver’s license still had my old address, they naturally assumed I lived there.
The new owner advised me to call the police to let them know he had it and then he brought it to me.
Everything was intact in my purse. I wish I could thank that wonderful person (persons).
If I had lost my confidence in humanity, it was certainly returned. God bless all those involved.
