I am getting so tired of schools and parents of school children continually creating school levies to tax homeowners to pay for your children’s education.
Now, I do not mind supporting education, in fact I am all for it, but every year you want more, more, more. In my 2022 property taxes, 40.4 percent goes to Snohomish district 201, and another 3.6 percent to Sno-Isle Library. When is it ever enough?
Yes, property values have skyrocketed over the last few years and you act like that is money in my pocket. News flash: It is not. I am retired on a fixed income and I do not mind supporting schools but not to the extent that I can no longer afford to live in my house.
Olympia has all the money you need to support your educational requirements. Please, contact your state representative and Gov. Jay Inslee to tell them to support your children and schools. That’s where the money is, the state just doesn’t want to spend it on your children and a good education. If all of you write your representatives and tell them to spend the money on schools or you will vote someone in who will, you will get your funding. Washington state has plenty of money, they just don’t want to spend it on education. You can change that.
