Were racist words even shouted?

Rick Horowitz’ Saturday column shocks and inflames me. (“See thugs and ranters for what they are.”) I agree that anyone who uses the n-word truly is abominable. Trouble is, there is some doubt as to whether this really happened. There is a $10,000 reward for anyone who can prove that it happened.

There were many cameras present when this racist charge was supposedly made, yet no one has yet to prove that it really happened. Even aside from that, if the charge is really true, does that one racist rant belong then to a whole movement? Horowitz would have you believe that all those people who disagree with the current course the country is taking are nothing more than haters, ranters and thugs.

His column is nothing more than an attempt to dehumanize, demonize, vilify and marginalize a large group of citizens. In one broad stroke, Horowitz has revealed himself to be what The Herald headline screams for us to be aware of. See thugs and ranters for what they really are.
