White cares about all of the children

I’ve been a “fool for school” for 29 years, first as a highly engaged parent volunteer and more recently as an elementary office manager. School boards make a difference. The priorities of the individual members affect every decision the board makes. That’s why it’s so important to elect someone who
believes that public education is the one chance we have to level the playing field for all of our kids; that every child, no matter what his or her socio-economic status, has a guaranteed right to the best quality education; who understands that public education is the last, best hope for our collective future.
In Edmonds, that candidate is Diana White. Long before Diana was a candidate, she was volunteering at my neighborhood school, a Title I school, where she gave her time to offer both advanced and remedial math to small groups. Diana’s children don’t attend my school, but Diana saw a need and she did her best to fill it. That universal consciousness, the ability to see beyond “my” needs to “our” needs, to make decisions based on what is best for those with no voice as well as the very vocal, is what compels me to urge Edmonds School District voters to elect Diana White — for all of our children!
