A couple of villains?

Washington senior guard Tim Morris has been getting a lot of attention today for his inbound pass off the face of UCLA’s Alfred Aboya in the second half yesterday.

UCLA coach Ben Howland seemed more upset about the play after the game than Aboya did. A number of the L.A. papers wrote about the incident, including this story from the Orange County Register.

The story even got a bit of national play today, as it was briefly debated on the ESPN show, Pardon the Interruption. For what it’s worth, both hosts, Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser, called the play dirty.

Oh, and villain number two? That’s apparently Stanwood’s own Ryan Appleby, who had better be ready for a night of heckling when the Huskies travel to Oregon Thursday.

Appleby is public enemy No. 1 in Eugene because he had the audacity to assault Aaron Brooks’ elbow with his face two season ago. Brooks was suspended against the Huskies in Seattle last season because of the incident, but when the two faced off in Eugene, Appleby declined to shake Brooks’ hand before the game. Oregon fans like to say that is why they now harass Appleby, though it should be noted that they already had signs with pictures of a bloodied Appleby before the two met on the court last season.
