Boys cross country: Yonathan Yilma of Edmonds-Woodway edged Joey Bywater of Lake Stevens, the 2006 Class 4A state meet runner-up, by four seconds to finish first in the premier flight at the Edmonds Invitational.
Football: Edmonds-Woodway running back Tony Heard carried 21 times for 262 yards and scored four rushing touchdowns in a 54-20 win over Mariner.
Girls cross country: Samantha Minor of Lake Stevens finished first in the premier flight at the Edmonds Invitational, 10 seconds ahead of Ellie Bonner of Snohomish, who was the top Wesco finisher (12th) in last year’s Class 4A state meet.
Volleyball: Kerry Clavadetscher of Shorecrest had 19 kills and 19 assists in a 3-2 win over Kamiak.
Boys soccer: Nathan Novion and Travis Hudson of Shoreline Christian each registered hat tricks. Novion scored three goals in a 6-0 win over Evergreen Lutheran. Hudson did it in a 7-1 win over Mt. Rainier Lutheran.
Girls soccer: Kelli Stewart of Kamiak scored four goals and had an assist in a 10-1 win over Lynnwood.
Girls swimming: Aydan Sarikaya of Shorecrest won the 200-yard freestyle, the 500 freestyle in a Class 3A state meet qualifying time of five minutes, 22.08 seconds and swam on the winning 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams in a 114-71 win over Lake Stevens.
Boys tennis: Kyle Hanks of Marysville-Pilchuck came back from a first-set loss to win a 212-hour match at No. 3 singles, giving the Tomahawks a 4-3 victory over Everett.
