Defender Beers drops suspension appeal

Stealth rookie defender Matt Beers dropped the appeal of his one game suspension earlier today and will serve the suspension March 13 against Calgary.
Beers’ decision to drop his appeal after a further review by the Professional Lacrosse Players Association (PLPA) was first reported by Paul Tutka at NLLInsider.com.
The suspension stems from a Week 6 bench clearing brawl with the Minnesota Swarm in St. Paul, Minn. Minnesota’s Sean Pollock and Stealth goaltender Tyler Richards engaged in a fight that ignited a fracas with both teams rushing to the floor. Beers was suspended for leaving the bench to join the fight.
Washington is off this week and resumes play March 13 at Calgary.
Defender Grimes awaiting completion of appeals process
Mike Grimes, who was also involved in the brawl against Minnesota, is still waiting to find out his fate through the lengthy appeals process. If suspended, Grimes will serve two games — one for leaving the bench and one for engaging in a fight on the floor.
Grimes would miss the March 13 game at Calgary and March 26 at Colorado if his appeal fails.
