Former Tips captain Harty wins a title

Here’s a quick departure from Everett’s playoff series against Portland. Former Tips captain Jonathan Harty earned a title when his University of New Brunswick team captured the CIS (Canadian collegiate) national championship over the weekend. The defenseman, who played for Everett from 2004-08 and captained the team during his final season, was named to the all-tournament team.

Everett’s playoff opponent, Portland, was also represented as former Winterhawk forward Kyle Bailey also plays for New Brunswick and was also named to the all-tournament team.
