HILLSBORO, Ore. — A.J. Vukovich singled home Ryan Bliss in the bottom of the eighth inning of a tied game and the Hillsboro Hops held on for a 2-1 win over the Everett AquaSox on Friday night.
Adam Macko started on the mound for the AquaSox and turned in another dominating performance. After striking out 11 in five innings in his first start of the season, Macko fanned another eight in five strong innings on Friday. He allowed only one earned run on two hits and walked one.
Spencer Packard doubled, and Alberto Rodriguez and Noelvi Marte had base hits for Everett (3-3).
Vukovich and Bliss each had two hits for Hillsboro (3-4).
