Marte, Lewis, Torrens all homer in Sox’s win over Canadians

Everett slugs five home runs in a 10-5 victory.

EVERETT — Noelvi Marte homered twice, and rehabbing Seattle Mariners players Kyle Lewis and Luis Torrens also added home runs as the Everett AquaSox rolled to a 10-5 win over the Vancouver Canadians on Friday night at Funko Field.

Marte, the top prospect in the Mariners’ system, finished 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored.

Lewis, who won the American League Rookie of the Year award for Seattle in 2020, homered for the second straight game and finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Torrens, who was playing in his first rehab game for the AquaSox after being placed on the injured list by the Mariners on June 27 with a shoulder injury, went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Dariel Gomez added his team-leading 15th home run and Jimmy Joyce allowed just one unearned run on one hit while striking out seven in five solid innings for Everett (39-39).

Glenn Santiago drove in a pair of runs for Vancouver (36-39).
