GIRLS BASKETBALL
Snohomish 64, Mountlake Terrace 41
SNOHOMISH — Kendall Hammer and the top-seeded Panthers came out on fire in the first half and then coasted into the district semifinals. Hammer, a 5-foot-7 junior guard, nailed seven of her eight 3-point baskets in the first half as Snohomish (16-6 overall) took a 38-20 halftime lead. Hammer scored a game-high 24 points, and Tyler Gildersleeve-Stiles (19) points and Lola Rotondo (10) kept the Hawks at arm’s length the rest of the way. Snohomish will face No. 4 seed Shorecrest 7 p.m. Tuesday in a winner-to-state game at Marysville Pilchuck High School. No. 9 Terrace (10-12) — which was led by Jordyn Stokes (13 points) and Jaliyah Dyson (12) — will travel to No. 5 Shorewood for a loser-out game at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Stanwood 59, Mount Vernon 23
STANWOOD — The Spartans, seeded third after a 9-1 league season, enjoyed outscoring Mount Vernon 16-5 in the first quarter so much they decided to do it again in the second quarter for a 32-10 halftime lead. Ella Wortham scored a game-high 14 points while Ava DePew and Jazmyn Legg added 13 apiece. Stanwood (16-6 overall) will face No. 7 Monroe in a winner-to-state semifinal at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Marysville Pilchuck High School.
Shorecrest 53, Shorewood 38
SHORELINE — The fourth-seeded Scots (11-10 overall) move on to the tournament semifinals, where they’ll face top-seeded Snohomish 7 p.m. Tuesday at Marysville Pilchuck High School. No. 5 Shorewood (11-13) will host No. 9 Mountlake Terrace, also at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Monroe 50, Meadowdale 49
LYNNWOOD — Seventh-seeded Monroe (13-10 overall) stunned No. 2 Meadowdale (15-7) with Halle Keller’s layup in the final seconds to move into the semifinals. The Bearcats will aim for another upset in a winner-to-state game against No. 3 Stanwood, 5 p.m. Tuesday at Marysville Pilchuck High School. The Mavericks will host six-seeded Mount Vernon 7 p.m. Tuesday for a loser-out contest.

EVERETT — The Wildcats, led by Brooke Blachly’s eight 3-pointers and 30 points, improved to 21-1 overall and move on to Wednesday’s winner-to-state district championship game.
