Prep stars of the night for Wednesday, May 8:

Owen Bishop, Arlington baseball

Bishop, a junior, allowed three runs — none earned — in 5 1/3 innings and struck out 12 Meadowdale batters to help the Eagles to a 4-3 win in a winner-to-state, loser-out contest in the 3A District 1 Tournament.

Ian Michael, Edmonds-Woodway baseball

Michael, a senior, scattered three hits over six innings of scoreless baseball to lead the Warriors to an 8-5 win over Snohomish in a winner-to-state, loser-out game in the 3A District 1 Tournament. Michael struck out eight, walked three, and went 1-for-4 with a double at the plate.

Jazzelle Caparas, Mariner girls golf

Caparas, claimed medalist honors at the Wesco 4A league championship, shooting a 2-over-par 74 at Battle Creek Golf Course.

Grace Flitsch and Celia Forster, Snohomish girls tennis

Flitsch and Forster, both juniors, claimed the Wesco 3A North doubles title in three sets, handing Panther teammates Allie Graham and Natalie Stern their first loss of the season in a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory.

Anna Burke and Kate Ivens, Shorecrest girls tennis

Burke, a senior, and Ivens, a sophomore won the Wesco 3A South doubles title with three consecutive straight-set victories Tuesday and Wednesday, beating Scots teammates Sophie Ivens and Bella Saunders 6-4, 6-4 in Wednesday’s final.

Sergio Pelayo, Skyler Reyna, Cameron Mefford and Matthew Zehrung, Lake Stevens track and field

Pelayo, Reyna and Mefford, all juniors, and Zehrung, a senior, set a school record by winning the 4×100-meter relay in 42.71 seconds at the Wesco 4A league meet at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Snohomish.
