Rodriguez homers, AquaSox defeat Dust Devils

EVERETT — Alberto Rodriguez hit his first home run of the season to back a strong start from Jimmy Joyce and the Everett AquaSox beat the Tri-City Dust Devils 5-1 on Saturday night at Funko Field.

Joyce allowed just one earned run on three hits in six terrific innings. He struck out six and walked two to pick up his first win of the season.

Bryan Pall, Evan Johnson and Kyle Hill closed the win for the AquaSox with three scoreless innings in relief.

Dariel Gomez and Charlie Welch also homered and had two hits each for Everett (5-8) in the win.

Kyren Paris went 2-for-4 with a double for Tri-City (7-6).
