Isaac Cortes

Granite Falls | Boys Cross Country

Cortes, a junior, placed third out of 192 runners in the 1B-2A portion of the Nike Twilight XC Invitational on Saturday at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville. He covered the three-mile course in 16 minutes, 44.4 seconds.

Adah Hall

Meadowdale | Volleyball

Hall, a sophomore setter, dished out 32 assists and recorded 23 digs Thursday to help the Mavericks rally from a 2-1 deficit and beat Everett in five sets in a Wesco 3A contest.

Tyler Massena

Snohomish | Football

Massena, a senior, rushed for 172 yards and five touchdowns — including the game-winning score in overtime — to lift the Panthers to a 33-27 victory over Shorecrest on Friday. He also had four receptions for a team-high 84 yards.

Alec Matulka,

Drew Boland

Edmonds-Woodway | Boys Tennis

Matulka and Boland, both seniors, rallied from a first-set defeat to win their No. 1 doubles match 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 Thursday, helping the Warriors to a 4-3 victory over Shorewood in a contest that decided the Wesco 3A South regular-season championship. Both Edmonds-Woodway and Shorewood entered the match undefeated.

Bree Nichols

Snohomish | Girls Soccer

Nichols, a sophomore forward, scored four minutes into overtime to give the Panthers a 4-3 victory over Cedarcrest on Tuesday in the first matchup between the two teams as Wesco 3A opponents. Nichols also assisted on one of Snohomish’s three second-half goals.

Naomi Smith

King’s | Girls Cross Country

Smith, a junior, finished first out of 215 runners with a three-mile time of 18:10.6 Saturday in the 3A-4A portion of the Nike Twilight XC Invitational at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville.

Elli Straume

Kamiak | Girls Swimming

Straume, a junior, won the 500-yard freestyle, 100 backstroke and was part of the Knights’ first-place 400 freestyle relay team Saturday at the Mukilteo Invitational. Straume set a meet record in the 500 freestyle.
