SPOKANE — The West defeated the East 6-2 in the annual All-State football game, which features some of the best senior talent from Class 4A and 3A schools across the state, at Gonzaga Prep High School in Spokane on Friday.
The West struck first with a 4-yard touchdown run by Chief Sealth’s Daron Camacho in the first quarter. The extra point was blocked.
It was the only touchdown in a game dominated by defense.
The score stayed 6-0 until Arlington’s Kenny Mills accounted for the East’s only points of the game when he tackled Kentwood’s Isaiah Williams in the end zone for a safety in the third quarter.
Arlington’s Andrew Kalahar and Snohomish’s Kobe McDaniel both saw playing time at quarterback for the West. Kalahar finished 1-for-7 for 19 yards and McDaniel was 2-for-4 for 47 yards.
Arlington’s Donavan Sellgren caught one pass for 8 yards and Shorewood’s Ronnie Gary caught one pass for 19 yards to account for two of the five catches by West receivers.
