After years of study, the Lynnwood City Council has approved a $22 million renovation and expansion of the city’s recreation facilities. It will be the largest single capital project in the city’s history.

Lynnwood Mayor Don Gough said the project has received strong community support throughout all of the discussions and planning that began in July 2007 and included 15 community meetings. Since the present facility opened 32 years ago, the Lynnwood Recreation Center has been the foundation of the city’s recreation program.
