SEATTLE — A man who was shot at by a Mukilteo police officer Nov. 25 as he allegedly fled in a stolen car was arrested in Seattle Saturday, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Seattle police arrested the man on an unrelated warrant, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said. The man was then identified as the suspect in the Mukilteo case. Police have been searching for him since the shooting.

After he was booked at the King County Jail, he told jail staff he had an injury to his shoulder, Jorgensen said. The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

Jorgensen did not say if the man was shot by the officer.

After he was treated, the man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property, Jorgensen said.

The circumstances of the shooting are under investigation by the Snohomish County Multi-Agency Response Team. The Mukilteo officer involved remains on paid leave.

Everett

Fire damages apartment: A fire started by a baseboard heater caused an estimated $15,000 in damage to an Everett apartment Tuesday morning, Everett Fire Department Battalion Chief Nick Walker said.

The fire was reported at around 10 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of W. Casino Road, Walker said. No one was home at the apartment when the fire started, he said, and no one was hurt.

Four families at the complex were evacuated while firefighters extinguished the blaze. The heater apparently caught a couch on fire, and the flames spread throughout the apartment, Walker said.

Two cats died in the fire. Firefighters were able to revive a dog, Walker said.
