Lake Wenatchee Sno-Park

What: A selection of easy cross-country trails around Lake Wenatchee State Park.

Where: Take U.S. 2 for 20 miles east of Stevens Pass and turn north on Highway 207. Drive 4.5 miles to the park.

Length: A total of about 17 miles of trails.

Difficulty: Easy, with some steep sections

Elevation gain: Up to 430 feet, with a high point of 2,300 feet.

Permit: Washington State Sno-Park groomed trails permit.

Notes: These are mostly groomed cross-country ski trails, but the park also has a circuit of snowshoe trails on the perimeter, as well as some designated areas for sledding or other play. The trails north of the park wind through the campground and along the river, while the longer south trails loop through the forest and along the lakeshore and river. File this away and check in January, because lack of recent snow have left conditions thin and icy, and the snowshoe trails have not been marked yet.
