Break for Washington

OK, you never like to see people get hurt, but if you’ve won three games in two years, any little bit helps.

So with that in mind, Washington got a bit of “good” news Friday with the news that California cornerback/return man Tim Mixon has been lost for the year with a torn ACL. Mixon was an honorable mention all-conference pick last year and was regarded as one of the top defensive backs and return men in the Pac-10. He was apparently hurt returning a punt in a scrimmage on Thursday. It’s the second time in Mixon’s career he’s suffered a season-ending injury.
