A man who drowned early Monday on Armstrong Lake near Arlington was identified Tuesday as Donald Brian Davis, 56, of Bellingham.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies believe Davis was launching a 10-foot boat with an electric motor to go fishing when the boat got away from him and slipped into the lake.
The lake, north of Arlington off Highway 9, is a popular fishing area.
Deputies believe Davis went into the chilly water after the boat.
His body was recovered after a lengthy search. He was not wearing a life jacket, police said.
