Classes

  • Chabad Jewish Center of Snohomish County announces an 11-week course on the mystical view of our nature entitled “Ten Steps to the Inner You.”

    The winter semester of Wednesday Night Kabbalah will take place for 11 weeks at 7:30 p.m. beginning Nov. 28, at the Chabad Jewish Center, 19 W. Intercity Ave., Everett. The class is open to adults; teenagers are welcome at their parent’s discretion. The free class requires no registration.

  • The class “Creating Public Rituals” will be offered through the Evergreen Unitarian Universalist Fellowship from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 27, Dec. 4, Dec. 11 and Dec. 18. Dec. 21 will be the Winter Solstice Ritual. The class will include basic ritual elements, energy flow, and performance skills for ritual leaders.

    Instructor fee is $35.

    The class will work together to design and lead the annual Winter Solstice Festival at Evergreen Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1607 Fourth St., Marysville.

  • Torah classes and discussions for practicing Jews or those who wish to learn more about their faith take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Chabad Jewish Center of Snohomish County, 19 W. Intercity Ave., Everett. The classes are free for adults and teenagers (with parents’ permission).

    Concerts

    The Evergreen Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will be holding its annual fall concert at 7:30 p.m. today.

    The concert includes the Evergreen and Pine Cone choirs singing songs of faith, justice and joy. There will also be refreshments available with an offering at the door. Evergreen Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is at 1607 Fourth St., Marysville.

    Luncheon

    The Mill Creek Christian Women’s Connection presents the luncheon “Holiday Entertaining Made Easy.”

    Mary Pat Connors and Debi Bock from Kusler’s in Snohomish will share ideas for hostess gifts and decorating with candles, chandeliers and low centerpieces for your holiday table.

    Karla Burgin will sing Christmas favorites and speaker Lois Williams will talk about keepsakes.

    This event will take place at the Mill Creek Country Club, 15500 Country Club Drive, Mill Creek, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 13. The luncheon costs $18.

    Reservations and cancellations are required by Dec. 11.

    Free meals

  • The Farm Ministries Youth Outreach is holding a Christmas party for shelter families from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 9.

    The party is a free event and will feature a catered holiday meal along with various activities for families, including photos with Santa Claus and holiday stockings for children.

  • Faith Lutheran Church offers its “Lunch Bunch” meals from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every second Tuesday of the month. The church is at 6708 Cady Road, Everett.

    The November menu will feature turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, stuffing, salad, dessert and refreshments.

    Craft fairs and bazaars

    Faith Lutheran Church in Lakewood has scheduled its bazaar from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

    All items have been handcrafted by church members, friends and community members.

    There will be raffle items, craft items and Norwegian goodies. All of the proceeds go back to the community in Thanksgiving baskets, Christmas baskets and gifts, area food banks and local senior centers.

    Women’s events

  • The Trinity Lutheran Church MOPS — Mothers Of Preschoolers — group has begun its 2007-08 year.

    The group is open to mothers with children from newborns through kindergarten age.

    MOPS meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays of each month at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2324 Lombard Ave., Everett.

  • The MOMS Club of Snoho­mish offers meetings open to mothers looking for fun and support.

    The MOMS Club is an international, nonprofit support group for mothers who stay at home with their children, including those who have home-based businesses or who work part time but are home with their children during the day.

    The club offers a variety of activities, including play groups, books clubs and special daytime events geared toward children.

    The MOMS club meets at 10 a.m. Tuesdays at Mountain View Community Church, 12033 Seattle Hill Road, Snohomish.

    Support groups

  • A 13-week support group for people who are grieving the loss of a loved one will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 2 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 9613 20th St. SE, Everett.

    People who want to participate should register in advance.
