Cold shooting dooms Murphy

BELLINGHAM — The Bellingham Red Raiders held the Archbishop Murphy Wildcats to two second-quarter points, and cruised to a 55-32 victory in the non-conference contest.

The Wildcats shot just 27 percent from the field (14-for-52), while the Red Raiders shot 43 percent (20-for-47). Murphy also struggled at the free throw line, hitting just four of 17 free throws (24 percent).

Murphy did win the battle on the glass, outrebounding Bellingham 41-37, but the Wildcats turned the ball over 18 times to Bellingham’s 12.

Devon Delaney scored 23 points and had 11 rebounds and Pete Carlson added 12 points and nine assists to lead the Red Raiders.

Joey Clancy had 10 points and eight rebounds to lead the Wildcats, who fell to 2-2.

Moses Lake Hall of Fame Duals: At Moses Lake, Snohomish was undefeated in four dual meets to finish first overall. The Panthers’ Richard Reed was 4-0 at 160 pounds with four pins. Teammate Stefan St. Marie was unbeaten at 135 and posted a technical fall against a defendig state champion.
