SHORELINE — The Coupeville girls basketball team defeated King’s 42-37 in a Cascade Conference game on Saturday night.

Able to move to the top of the Cascade Conference with a win, Coupeville needed to execute with efficiency and consistency. The consistency displayed by the Wolves allowed them to sustain a lead despite getting outscored 21-11 in the third quarter by the Knights, as well as a Mackenzie Taylor basket which tied the score at 37 apiece with two and a half minutes remaining in the contest.

“We weren’t able to convert down the stretch and they did,” King’s coach Eric Rasmussen said.

The Knights were unable to put any more points on the board after forging a tie late and the Wolves closed the game out at the free throw line, making 3 of 4 attempts in the closing minutes of the game.
