Just skulking around

So the plan is to hit the Silvertips games tonight and Saturday to dig up a column for Sunday. On what, I don’t have much of an idea. The obvious angle would the the Kyle Beach-Chris Bruton melee, since Spokane’s coming in Saturday night. I might dived into it. Then again, I might not.

That happens in reporting more often than you might think, especially what I do as a columnist. I have pretty much a clear field on what to write about. I love it most of the time; other times it’s a curse. There’s either nothing to write about (a rare occurrence) or way, way to much.

Always like working with the Silvertips. It’s a very well-run, professional franchise. The front office really knows what it’s doing. The players, coaches and everyone else are pretty media-friendly. I never have any worries about asking the wrong questions or ticking anybody off. They know we have a job to do. There’s a mutual respect.

In other words, the complete opposite of the Everett Hawks, God rest their souls.
