Local briefly: Stanwood police investigating fatal car crash

STANWOOD — Police on Tuesday were investigating a one-car fatal crash that killed a teenager or young adult.
The victim’s age and hometown were not released.
Police aren’t certain when the driver’s white car left the road, hit several trees and landed in the bottom of a gully, Stanwood Police Chief David Bales said. There’s evidence the car was going fast.
Road construction workers found the wreckage of the car about 8:20 a.m. Tuesday in the 6700 block of 268th Street NW, he said.
The victim’s identity also was not released. The Snohomish County medical examiner was expected to conduct an autopsy today.
Edmonds: Missing man found safe
An Edmonds man who was reported missing last month has been found alive and well, Snohomish County sheriff’s officials said this afternoon.
Christopher Miller, 47, was found over the weekend in the Seattle area. Detectives don’t believe foul play was involved in his disappearance, sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
Miller was reported missing after he failed to return home from work on March 28. He called his fiance to tell her had some work to finish and then he’d be on his way home.
No other details were available about how police found Miller.
Man arrested in girlfriend’s stabbing
Edmonds police have arrested a 33-year-old man accused of stabbing his girlfriend.
The woman, 40, was taken to Harborview Medical Center; her injuries were not life-threatening, Edmonds police Sgt. Don Anderson said.
The assault happened just before midnight Monday in the 9400 block of 244th Street SW, he said.
The woman was repeatedly stabbed with a kitchen knife, Anderson said. Her adult daughter called police.
Police used a tracking dog to find the man after he fled, Anderson said.
The woman’s daughters, 15 and 18, also suffered minor injuries in the attack.
The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of three counts of assault. He’s expected to go before a judge today.
