50 years ago (1958)

Leadership for the Everett Junior College student body next year would be provided by Bill Wilson of Everett, president; Lorin Love of Mukilteo, vice president; Elaine Balduan of Snohomish, secretary, and Sharon Nelson of Everett, treasurer. The officers were elected this week.

Eighth-grader Don Logen was to represent Lincoln School of East Stanwood at the Evergreen Fair Spelling Contest. Eighth-grader Barbara Bloom was No. 2. Class winners were George Broz, Margaret Madsen, Walter Anderson and Eileen Nelson.

25 years ago (1983)

Stanwood School District volunteers were to be honored at a reception at Stanwood United Methodist Church. To be honored for more than 300 volunteer hours over a two year period were Pam Blish (who donated 643 hours this year alone), Carol Brown, Laurie Davies, Barbara Spence, Betsy Shield, Leslie Lasater and Bob Johnston.
