Washington Open kicks off today

BELLEVUE — A field of 168 golfers from around the Pacific Northwest will tee off today for the first round of the 82nd-annual Washington Open golf tournament at Glendale Country Club.
The 54-hole event continues Tuesday and Wednesday.
Among those entered is 2007 champion Tim Feenstra of Broadmoor Golf Club. Also in the field is Keith Coleman of Mukilteo’s Harbour Pointe Golf Course, who won in 1997 and again in 2004.
Others from Snohomish County courses include Joe Puetz, Bob Burton (amateur) and Brian Marriotti (amateur) from Harbour Pointe, Caleb Kraus from the Golf Club at Echo Falls in Snohomish, Alex Stamey (amateur) of Everett Golf and Country Club, Mill Creek Country Club head pro Ryan Benzel, and head pro Dave Castleberry from Marysville’s Cedarcrest Golf Course. Redmond’s Trilogy Golf Club teaching pro and Mukilteo resident Tom Sovay also is in the field.
