LYNNWOOD – Some lanes of 196th Street SW at 52nd Avenue W remained blocked this afternoon as crews tried to repair two power poles that were leaning dangerously over the busy Lynnwood street.
Westbound traffic was moving again after being blocked most of the day as Lynnwood city crews could work with Snohomish County PUD to fix two power poles, Lynnwood public works spokesman Les Rubstello said. At least one eastbound lane was open and crews hoped to have the road cleared later this evening.
Contractors for the utility were working on power lines in the area this morning when a guy wire apparently snapped and two rotted poles fell, said Neil Neroutsos, a PUD spokesman.
