EVERETT — A Lynnwood woman killed late Friday night in a traffic crash at the intersection of Broadway and Hewitt Avenue was identified Monday as Maria Banaag.
Banaag, 59, was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she died, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
The King County medical examiner ruled her death an accident and said she died from head and internal injuries.
The crash occurred just before midnight, Goetz said. A full-size pickup truck crashed into a Toyota Corolla in which Banaag was a passenger.
Both drivers were treated at hospitals for injuries that were not considered life threatening.
The accident remains under investigation, Goetz said.
Lynnwood: Police seek burglary suspect
Police said they are still looking for an armed man who robbed the Joe’s store at 196th Street SW and Highway 99 in Lynnwood about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
The man was wearing a leather jacket and had a scarf over his face, Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said. He was armed with a rifle or shotgun.
Before taking the money, he ordered everyone to the ground in the tent section of the parking lot of the store, formerly known as G.I. Joe’s, she said.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his mid to late 20s. He fled in a car driven by another man, described as white and wearing a hat and sunglasses.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call detective Sean Gillebo at 425-670-5622.
