GRANITE FALLS — Fire destroyed a home outside Granite Falls Wednesday afternoon.

The blaze was reported around 1 p.m. in the 22000 block of Waite Mill Road, Granite Falls Fire Lt. Eric Cole said.

Someone saw smoke in the area and called 911.

Crews arrived and found the house ablaze, Cole said.

Because of the remote location, tender trucks were called in from Lake Stevens, Getchell, Arlington Heights and Lake Roesiger fire departments to provide water to douse the flames.

No one was injured.

The Red Cross responded to help the resident find a place to stay.

The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating what sparked the fire.
