Many of the best male athletes in Washington will compete for top honors today at the 22nd Shoreline Track and Field Invitational. The action begins at 12:30 p.m. at Shoreline Stadium.

According to meet organizer Don Dalziel, the Shoreline Invite is the largest all-boys track invite in the Northwest. More than 1,000 competitors from 78 schools are expected to participate. Tickets for the event cost $7 for adults, $5 for students with an ASB card, and $4 for senior citizens and children.

Based on times and marks reported through last week on Athletic.net, state leaders in seven events will be at the Shoreline Invite. Some of the elite athletes are Kentwood sprinter Devin St. Clair, Auburn Riverside runner Kenny Krotzer, Hazen thrower Andrey Levkiv and Kentlake jumper Zach Smith.

In 2008, Everett won the team title. Led by throwers Bobby Rodgers and Malaki Seanoa, the Seagulls are back again this year.
