Granite Falls: City to discuss new businesses

The Granite Falls Planning Commission will consider applications for licenses by two new businesses tonight.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at City Hall, 206 S. Granite Ave.

Granite Falls Dental Care at 207 E. Stanley St. and North Sound Massage Therapy Inc. at 707 N. Granite Ave. are applying for business licenses.

Marysville: Plan for downtown on agenda

The Marysville Planning Commission is scheduled to discuss the city’s proposed downtown makeover plan tonight.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at City Hall, 1049 State Ave.

The plan calls for the downtown area to eventually become more pedestrian friendly with smaller streets, open space and buildings with multifamily housing on top and retail on the ground floor.

The board is also scheduled to discuss regulations for planned senior communities and crime prevention through environmental design.

Mukilteo: Free outdoor program

Free music and fun re-enactments from historical actors are scheduled for Mukilteo Makes Music at the Light Station, a free program planned for 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the lighthouse, 608 Front St. People are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets. The event is sponsored by the Mukilteo Historical Society and the city of Mukilteo, and should feature scenes from Mukilteo as well as the Civil War.
