Front Porch: Cheer camp today

Published 11:09 pm Thursday, July 16, 2009

Snohomish and Glacier Peak high schools combined cheer squads offer a Kla-Ha-Ya Days Cheer Mini-Camp today.

It’s for children ages 4 to 12 and is planned for 10 this morning at Glacier Peak High School, 7401 144th Place SE in Snohomish.

After the two-hour camp, the squad will march in a parade on Saturday.

The camp costs $25, and that includes a snack and pompoms.

Voter registration deadlines set

Folks have through Saturday to fill out an online registration application, complete a mail-in registration form or transfer an existing registration to a new address form for the Aug. 18 election.

Those who have never registered to vote in Washington may register at the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office through Aug. 10.

For more information, call 425-388-3444.

Where can you eat for free?

A Web site, www.frugalliving.tv/free-stuff/kids-eat-free.html, handily lists restaurant chains nationwide that will feed your kids for free.

In this area, we found places like Denny’s and IHOP, but we’d like to know of any local restaurants offering the same kind of deal.

If you own a restaurant or know of one offering freebies, please e-mail features@heraldnet.com or call 425-339-3209, and we’ll check it out for a story in an upcoming Friday A&E section.
