PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Lynnwood remains unbeaten

LAKE STEVENS — Lake Stevens came close to handing Lynnwood its first loss of the season, but close wasn’t enough. Lynnwood took the non-conference match Thursday night by scores of 25-18, 19-25, 25-18, 23-25 and 15-13.
“Lynnwood’s a great team. I wanted to take a win away from them, but we were close,” Lake Stevens coach Amy Wiklund said.
Jessika Barlow led Lynnwood with 21 kills and six digs. Laycee Hill had 27 assists and Kayla Dumo chipped in 21 digs for the Royals (5-0 overall).
Miranda Shultz had 12 kills and three aces, Marchelle Bostic had 33 assists and Brooke Dalgleish had eight digs for Lake Stevens (3-3).
Snohomish 3, Shorewood 1: At Snohomish, Snohomish defeated Shorewood by scores of 25-21, 21-25, 25-18 and 25-22 in the non-league match. Maddie Fouts had 12 kills, Shelby Short had 30 assists and 11 digs and Karissa Lamphere had 24 digs for Snohomish (1-4 overall). Molly Whipple had six kills and 12 assists and Laura Postor had 15 digs for Shorewood (2-3).
Everett 3, Edmonds-Woodway 2: At Everett, Emily Liger had 22 kills and 15 digs and teammate Mackenzie Banta added 31 assists and nine digs to propel Everett (3-3) to the 16-25, 14-25, 25-23, 25-19, 16-14 non-league victory over the Warriors. Katy Olson (16 kills, three blocks) and Miah Diirell (12 kills, 15 digs) led the way for E-W (4-1).
Arlington 3, Glacier Peak 2: At Arlington, Glacier Peak won the second and third sets to take a 2-1 lead, but Arlington came back to win the non-conference match 25-22, 17-25, 24-26, 25-23, 15-10. Kenzie Jorgenson had 19 kills, Melissa Webb had 49 assists and Kirstin Wright had 29 digs to put Arlington at 2-4. Glacier Peak slipped to 1-4, led by Taylor Rasmussen’s 10 digs, Olivia VanDlac’s 16 kills, Sydney Fullerton’s 40 assists and four digs, Carli Kent’s 11 kills and Maddi Ober’s six kills and four blocks.
Marysville-Pilchuck 3, Mountlake Terrace 1: At Marysville, Alisha Oden had 11 kills and nine blocks, and Cali Cull and Mikayla LaRosa each added 11 kills, vaulting M-P (3-3) to a 23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-9 non-conference win. Terrace’s (1-4) Christine Jenson had 21 assists, Liana Samuelson had 11 kills and Stephanie McGee had 20 digs to lead the Hawks’ attack.
Jackson 3, Cascade 0: At Everett, freshman Haley MacDonald (31 assists, five aces), senior Christy Cain (11 kills, two blocks) and junior Leigh-Ann Haataja (six kills and five digs) highlighted the Timberwolves (5-1) attack as Jackson swept the Bruins 25-15, 25-13, 25-16. Cascade’s record dropped to 0-5.
Meadowdale 3, Oak Harbor 2: At Oak Harbor, Meadowdale beat Oak Harbor by scores of 24-26, 25-23, 21-25, 25-22 and 15-9. Oak Harbor (3-2 overall) was led by Amanda Blau, who had 10 kills and six blocks, Melany Cone with 33 assists and three aces, Kelsey Terrazas-Cooley with 34 digs and three aces and Katelyn Bristow with 32 digs. Both Cone (27-27) and Bristow (23-23) were perfect serving. Emily Denham had 18 kills, Lindsey Milner had 13 kills and 20 digs and Megan Nelson had 44 assists and 10 digs for Meadowdale (3-2)
King’s 3, Sultan 0: At Shoreline, King’s remained perfect at 5-0 in the Cascade Conference and overall with a 25-12, 25-8, 25-8 win. King’s Tina Boggs had eight aces, Jennifer Dame added seven more aces, and Dionna Kirton had eight kills. Sultan is now 0-5, 0-5.
Shoreline Christian 3, Concrete 0: At Concrete, Shoreline Christian won with set scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-13, improving to 3-1 in league and 4-1 overall. Megan Bauman had six service aces and Bethany Richards had eight kills to lead Shoreline Christian.
