LYNNWOOD — The two top teams in the Wesco South volleyball standings took to the court Tuesday night and in the four-set battle, Kamiak came out on top, defeating Meadowdale 3-1 to remain perfect in conference play.

The Knights (6-0 in league, 10-1 overall) battled back after dropping the first game 22-25, winning the next three 25-18, 25-21 and 25-14 to seal the victory.

“They were down early so right away your thinking, ‘OK we’ve got to battle back for three more,’” Kamiak head coach Natalie Bowie said. “It was just a battle and a fight.”

Senior Anna Senouillet (eight kills) was deemed the “player of the game” by Bowie.

“She was tough defensively, she had a couple good kills and she was talking on the court,” Bowie said. “She was pretty much the glue that held us together.”

Bryce Larson had 19 kills and Ally Bowles had 34 assists to lead Kamiak, which now holds a one game lead over Meadowdale and Jackson, which are tied for second place in the Wesco South, one game behind the Knights.

“They were really excited tonight,” Bowie said. “They knew it was a really big match. They tried to go into it with a lot of intensity.”
