Kids can’t seem to get enough of the little critter, so the Seattle Children’s Theatre has held over its production of “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” based on the beloved Laura Numeroff book.
The show has been hailed as a celebration of physical comedy that features the joy of the unexpected, and has been described by Seattle’s Child magazine as a “nonstop action romp.”
The plot follows the story of a boy who decides to stay home when his mom goes to visit Aunt Rose. He’s got his new “Jungleman of the Amazon” comic and a bag of cookies and a spot in the yard to read. It’s all good. But then, along comes Mouse.
Energetic, inquisitive and hungry Mouse.
Mouse goes from asking for a glass of milk, to wanting to cut his hair, to needing a broom to sweep the floor, to taking on the Amazon jungle — Mouse is one chaotic creature.
The SCT version of the story, adapted by Jody Davidson, comes complete with slapstick gags and entertains children ages 3 and up.
“If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” plays at 2 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Seattle Children’s Theatre, 201 Thomas St., Seattle. Tickets are $20 to $34 for adults and $15 to $28 for children depending on the day and time. Call 206-441-3322 or go to www.sct.org.
