EVERETT — A Nov. 9 fire that destroyed Emory’s restaurant is being investigated as a probable arson, Everett police said this morning.

The fire destroyed the Silver Lake fixture, known for its waterfront deck, warm service and stiff martinis.

Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.

Few details about the investigation were released, but detectives have evidence in the arson investigation, Goetz said.

He expected to release more details later today.

Emory’s opened in 1994 on the site of the former Silver Beach Resort, a private park dating back to the 1930s. The resort offered cabins for rent and a swimming dock with a giant wheel and a 20-foot slide.

The fire was first reported at about 4:20 a.m. on Nov. 9. Crews rushed to the scene but the building already was engulfed.
